OAKES, Wilfred - It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Wilfred Oakes in his 85th year on September 5, 2008. Predeceased by his first wife Doris. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy. Loving father of Keith (Cheryn), Gary (Nancy), Grant (Laurie), Sheila (Jim) Schultz and step-father of Fern (Ellis) Davenport, Lois (Bill) Heather, and Alan (Heather) Oakes. Proud grandfather of 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Brother of Ken (Doreen), Bessie Hayward and the late Bert Oakes. Loving companion of Edith Wilkinson. Friends will be received at DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. Service to follow in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Mt.
