CLARKE, Larry Macpherson July 20, 1943 - August 18, 2008 Our much loved Husband, Dad, and Grandpa is finally at rest after a three year battle with cancer. Larry was raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and has lived in Calgary since 1970. He worked for N.C.R. and Nu-west Homes before founding L.J. RIDA Construction Ltd. to build custom homes. He was a perfectionist in all he did and enjoyed being "The Boss". Larry competed in gymnastics as a teenager and carried on to be the head coach for two recreational clubs in Calgary. Throughout his life, Larry and his family participated in many activities together, including camping, hiking, bird watching, canoeing, golfing, and traveling. He especially loved sailing. Larry will be remembered for his love of life, positive thinking, dry humour, and how much he cherished his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Joan; his children Richard (Janet), Ian (Wendy), Darren (Jennie) and April (Pat); and seven grandchildren. Words cannot express our thanks to the various doctors and nurses at Foothills Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Scot Dowden and nurse Wendy - you made a rough journey easier. A celebration of Larry's life will be held for immediate family. Condolences may be forwarded to the family through www.commemorativeservices.ca . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation (c/o Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 - 29 Street N.W., Calgary, T2N 4N2. Telephone 403-521-3433).
