STRATFORD, Gordon Elgin - Surrounded by his family at his home on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 in his 74th year, after a courageous battle with cancer, Gordon Elgin Stratford. Beloved husband of Marion. Much loved father of Linda Anderson, Burford, Wayne, Brantford, Darlene Laevens and her husband Paul, Waterford and Terry and his wife Alice, Scotland. Loving grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Burnley Stratford (Maybell), Mabel Nagle (the late Jim), Donald Stratford (Clara), Lawrence Stratford (Leona) and the late Norma Hamilton. Dear brother-in-law of Herb Hamilton (Ruth). Also missed by nieces and nephews. Gordon farmed all of his life in the Scotland area. The family will receive friends at MCCLEISTER FUNERAL HOME, 495 Park Rd. N. on Saturday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be in the chapel Sunday at 2:00 p.m. followed by cremation. Rev. Sheila Burns of Oakland United Church will officiate.
