MASSIA, Hattie - Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Cornwall Community Hospital, McConnell Site, on Tuesday, September30, 2008. Hattie May Massia (nee MacCuaig) of Cornwall; formerly of Alexandria; age 80 years. Predeceased by her husband and true love, Leo Massia (2001). Dear mother of Marilyn King (John), Debbie Renaud (Tony), Beverly Theoret (Emile Jr.), Sheryle Meldrum (Douglas), Monica Lauzon (Michel), Philip Massia (Marjorie), Patricia Lajoie, Luana Girard (Tom) and Deneene Lefebvre (Jacques). Precious Nanny to 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildrean and one expected great-grandchild. Hattie is survived by her sister, Grace Pidgeon. She is predeceased by her parents, Dan MacCuaig and Martha Downey, her sisters, Mary Belle Pidgeon, Donalda Thievierge, Florence Massia and Cassie Cardinal and by her brothers, Duncan and Hughie Dan MacCuaig. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. relatives and friends may call at the MUNRO & MORRIS FUNERAL HOMES LTD., 114 Main St. South Alexandria (613) 525-2772 on Friday, October 3, 2008 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of the Service. A small and intimate Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Alexandria United Church Cemetery, Alexandria. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
