Esther Marjorie HODGES

MILLER, Esther Marjorie (nee Hodges) Originally of Cumberland, Ontario, peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Starwood Nursing Home in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Cyril Barrett and John Miller. Dear sister of Eva Carriere and Annie McCausland. Predeceased by sister Velva Smith, brothers Hubert, Clair, Erwin and Wesley Hodges, son Reginald (Barry) Barrett and daughter-in-law Cathy Johnson. She will be greatly missed by her sons Garth and Brent Barrett. Also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her passing will be deeply felt by many nieces, nephews and friends. Esther was a faithful member of Woodvale Pentecostal Church and a dedicated volunteer with the Women's Institute of Manotick Churchill Seniors Club. Also active with the Merivale Seniors, many other organizations including Starwood Nursing Home, where she spent her final days. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff and volunteers of Starwood for their care and compassion. Friends are invited to visit the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, on Thursday, October 2 from 5 - 7 p.m. and Friday, October 3 from 10 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday at 11:30 a.m. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to the Woodvale Pentecostal Church.
