MAHAS, Joseph - Passed away on Sunday November 2, 2008 after a long, valiant struggle. Joe passed away quietly with his loving family by his side at the Welland Hospital. Most loving husband of June (nee Murphy). Much loved and cherished father of Karen Dick (Jerry) of Fonthill and Gary (Wendy) of Whitby. The best and most caring, loving grandfather of Kelsey and Kristie of Fonthill and Sydney, Brooke and Maddison of Whitby. They will miss their beloved “Papa” dearly. At one time, he was a great hockey player and an avid golfer. A retiree of Stelco, his life revolved around his family and close friends. He will be sorely missed. The Mahas family will receive friends at J.J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence 19 Young Street, Welland on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday November 5, 2008 at 2 o'clock. Interment to follow in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens.
