Dmytro MYCIAK

MYCIAK, Dmytro - Passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital on Tuesday November 11, 2008, in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Mary. Loving father of Joseph (Brunina), Eugene (Mary Lou Blatchley), and Lesa. Proud grandfather of Alexander, Nicholas, Christina and Peter. Born in Ukraine, Dmytro left his homeland to work in Germany during the Second World War. There he met and married his wife, Mary, of 62 years. Together they moved to England to begin a new life. Four years after the birth of their first son, they immigrated to Canada and settled in Welland, near Dmytro's brother, Theodore and his family. He worked at Stelpipe (Page Hersey) for most of his life and was a long supporting parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church. The Myciak family will receive their friends at J.J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence 19 Young Street, Welland on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm where Panachyda will be sung at 7 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday November 14, 2008 at 10 o'clock, at St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
