PINTER, Emery Julius, MD., FRCP(C). Emery died in his sleep on October 26, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was seventy-nine years old. His family in Montreal includes his second wife Isolde, and friends and companions too many to mention. Emery was a skillful physician and healer, an aviator, a great friend to dogs, an artist and photographer, a scientist, a lover of poetry and a poet for life. His was a life lived in many stanzas. Emery touched many with his talents and sensibilities. He lived humbly, sharing his gifts with those in need, and he did not neglect sharing in their joys as well. Many thanks to the attentive doctors and nurses at the Montreal General who helped him since August. Cremation has already taken place. A celebration of Emery's life is to be held in Toronto.
