McDONAGH Mr. James - on November 16th, with his family by his side, after a long and heroic battle with cancer. Beloved husband of 43 years to Janet McDonagh. Proud father to Katie (Scott Hunter) and Kelly (Dan Moziar). Loving Grandfather and “Paca“ to Montana Hunter and Felicity Jane Moziar. His tremendous wit, generosity and loyal friendship will be missed by many friends and family across Canada and Great Britain. Jim came to Canada in 1965 from Motherwell Scotland. He worked as an engineer for General Tire and John Deere Welland works. A talented entrepreneur, Jim created Northern Ignition Inc., which he ran successfully for 17 years until his retirement in August 2007. Jim had a passion for the great composers, history, woodworking and fishing for pickerel in the Bay of Quinte, but above all else he loved spending time with his family. Special thanks to Dr.'s Tittley and Chu of the Hamilton General Hospital, Dr. Blewitt of St. Catharines General Hospital and the caring nurses of the CCAC (Irene and Erynn). Their care for Jim and support was greatly appreciated. As per Jim's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be conducted in the chapel of the JAMES L. PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME, 1292 Pelham Street Fonthill, on Saturday November 22, 2008. Visitation from 10:00 am until service time at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Cerebral Palsy Support Foundation of Canada.
