Mr. Sterling Staples - October 28, 2008 - Sterling Lloyd Staples (August 8, 1916 - October 28, 2008) WWII Veteran RCE With deep sadness we announce the passing of Sterling L. Staples on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 in Pickering. Cherished husband of Nora M Staples (Blandford) for 65 years. Dearly beloved dad of Dianne Paradis and her husband Wayne of Lancaster, Massachusetts, and the late Lynn Fox. Dear brother of Ruth Morrison of Markham. Proud grandfather of Robert Hart and Jennifer Hart-Marles of Toronto; and Michael Paradis and Jessica (Paradis) Strade of Massachusetts. Loving great grandpa of Beth Hart, Aislynn Paradis and Noah Marles. Sterling retired from CIBC in 1976 where he had been employed for over 40 years. In retirement he worked to raise funds for the United Way. He enjoyed many years of travel with friends and loved ones. He cherished time at his Shadow Lake cottage with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Sterling was a kind and gentle man with a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humour. The family will receive friends at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Road, Pickering Village (Ajax) 905-428-8488 from 2-4 and 7-9 Friday. Funeral Service in the chapel on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Parkinson Society (www.parkinson.ca). A book of condolences may be signed below.
