Allan Peter James WORTHEN

Mr. Allan Peter James Worthen March 7, 1949 - November 22, 2008 - WORTHEN, Allan Peter James 59, Brookside Road, Hatchet Lake, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 22, 2008, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Peter and Laura (MacKinnon) Worthen. He was a lifelong member of Local 409, Sheet Metal Worker's Union. Allan was a long-time member of Oakfield Golf and Country Club, and was an avid golfer. He is survived by son, Omar (Lynn) Worthen, Hatchet Lake; grandson, Owen Worthen, Hatchet Lake; granddaughter, Alexandria Tarasuk, Halifax; sisters, Pauline Amsler, Toronto, Ont.; Isobel Kopchia, Edmonton, Alta.; brother, Barry (Alfreda) Worthen, Mount Uniacke; several nieces and nephews; special sister-in-law, Brenda Cowie, Hatchet Lake. He was predeceased by his wife, Erica Zandra Worthen. Many thanks to the staff of 5.2 ICU, QEII. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, where visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Memorial service 10 a.m. Friday in St. Timothy's Anglican Church, Hatchet Lake. Reception to follow. Rev. Lisa Vaughn officiating. Private family interment at a later date in Lower Barney's River.
