Gerald Muir AUCHINACHIE

AUCHINACHIE, Gerald Muir (Jerry). Born April 9, 1936, Duncan, BC. At Mount Sinai Hospital on Saturday, October 30, 2004 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Olive (LeQuesne), son Keith and daughter Lisa and her husband John Laino. Loving grandfather of Julia and Maxwell Laino. Dear brother of Aldine (Ken Kirkpatrick) and Lynn (Blake Bolton) of Duncan, BC, Steven of Victoria and Carol (Don Martin) of Los Angeles. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gerald attended Victoria College, the University of B.C, University of Toronto and the University of Montreal while earning his B.A., his M.A. and his Ph.D. His career included teaching positions at the University of Saskatchewan, the University of Victoria and lastly at Sir George Williams-Concordia, where he joined the faculty of English in 1968 and remained until his retirement. While at Concordia he served as Chair of the English Department for two terms and later as chair of the Graduate Program. Funeral service private. Arrangements by Blythe Bernier Funeral Home.
