Walter Richard MALL

MALL, Walter Richard Walter passed away December 3, 2008 at the Agape Hospice in Calgary, AB at the age of 84 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Calgary and raised on the family farm at Kathyrn, AB where he farmed until retiring to Calgary in 1987. Although they moved to Calgary, many weekends were spent at the farm until the final barbecue in the summer of 1999 when the farm acreage was sold. It was this summer that traveling had became more difficult for his wife Lorraine. Prior to that, they loved to travel, to Vegas being one of their favorite places. Walter is survived by his sister Elsie Preston of Calgary; nieces Shirley Sigurdson and her daughter Robin Jalbert. Walter is also survived by Evelyn (Don) Rondeau of Calgary and her family, Barry (Pam), Derlyene (Jeff), Brian (Rebecca), Trevor (Sue) and Jason; nephews Allan Mall of High Level, AB and Kris (Tara) Smoke of Grande Prairie. Also left to mourn are brothers-in-law Ted (Bette) Wilkins of Westlock, Roy (Trudy) Wilkins of Calgary and Gordon Wilkins of Burnaby, BC and several nieces, nephews and cousins in USA and Canada. Walter was predeceased by his wife Lorraine in 2006, his parents Wilhelm (1933) and Wilhelmina (1943) and brothers William (1990), Herman (1994) and Albert (2007) and niece Linda Smoke (2008). Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at visitation at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Monday, December 8, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Foster's Garden Chapel, on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to Agape Hospice, 1302 - 8 Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1B8.
