MACKEW, M.A. Claire - Delivered peacefully into the arms of our Lord on Sunday December 28th, 2008 at the Residence on the Thames, Chatham, Mrs. M.A. Claire MacKew of Chatham in her 84h year. Beloved wife of the late Mark Sr. (1986). Loving mother of Mark Jr. and his wife Mary Ann, Darwin and his wife Denise and James. Loving grandmother of Katrina, Mark III, Melanie and Duncan. She is survived by her brother Ronald Larocque. She is predeceased by her brother Marcel and her sisters Jean and Anita. An avid reader and believer in literacy programs, Claire volunteered at libraries in Melvindale, Michigan, and Chatham for decades. Family and friends are invited to the ALEXANDER FUNERAL HOME, 245 Wellington West, Chatham, 519-352-2710, on Tuesday December 30th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be announced in Tuesday's edition or on our website.
