Florence HASKINS

MATIAS, Florence - January 6, 1920 - November 28, 2008 - Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg. She was born in Manchester, England to William and Margaret Haskins. She is survived by her adoring husband Stanley; her three loving children Stella Pravis, Rick Matias and Jeanette Gatt; and their spouses Arvid Pravis, Maurine Matias and Raymond Gatt; her six grandchildren, Tina Witkowski (nee Pravis), Darren Matias, Allison Matias, Wendy Robertson (nee Gatt), Andrew Gatt and Michael Gatt; and great-grandchild, Kate Robertson. Florence loved life. She will be remembered by her family and friends as an accomplished pianist, an avid gardener and an excellent chef. She loved to travel, was a reader of many subjects, and most importantly, her love of family. The Matias family wish to extend their sincerest gratitude to all those who touched Florie's life, especially her last nine days: the staff of the ER, ICU, 2A and the staff at Complex Care. We would also like to extend an extra special thanks to Ed, Denise, Brian, Pierre, Marilyn and Gertie who spent time with our mother over many years. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2008 from 2 - 4 p.m. at 283 Lakeview Court, Cobourg, Ontario.
