LOGAN, George Bernard - Husband, father, and friend. George passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2009 in his 75th year at Peterborough Regional Health Centre surrounded by his family. All who met him enjoyed George's friendly mannerisms and kind heart. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors - fishing, hunting, building log cabins, and in the earlier years he raced stock cars. George was a proud and dedicated member (regular) of the Canadian Army for several years. George was always willing to help, always a diplomat - a wonderful teacher of life! He will be greatly missed by Marlene (nee Martin) his wife of 54 years and childhood sweetheart, sons George, Rodney, Mark and daughter-in-law Kathy, daughter Bonnie Townsend (nee Logan) and son-in-law Ian Townsend. Grandchildren - Jennifer, Samantha, Caitlyn and Kailey of Vancouver, Island, Joshua, Mark, Lisa, Marlene and Barrie, Jesse and Caitlin and 5 great grandchildren. George's surviving siblings are Ken, Bernice, Ben, Christina, Reginald, Wayne, Winston, Lynn and lifelong friends Margaret and Winston Churchill and their children Tom and Terry. Sincere thanks and appreciation to the Health Care Staff who cared for George at PRHC on floor 4B and Dr. Powell. Visitation will be held at the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street on January 21, 2009 from 12:00 noon - 1:30 pm. Private family service to follow. Donations to the Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated. “The whole of life is but a moment of time. It is our duty, therefore to use it, not to misuse it” - we will miss you!.
