Mrs. Patricia Bryson December 26, 1947 - December 26, 2008 BRYSON, PATRICIA ELLEN December 26, 1947 – December 26, 2008 On December 26, 2008 with her loving family at her side Mrs. Patricia Bryson passed away at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre after a lengthy and courageous battle with Pick’s Disease. Born on December 26, 1947 in Fort William, Ontario to Alan and Olive Phillips, Patricia was educated at Isabella Street School, Fort William Collegiate Institute and Selkirk Vocational and Collegiate High School. Upon graduation she worked for the Chamber of Commerce, McKellar General Hospital and the Thunder Bay Correction Centre where she was the Supervisor of Records. The onset of her illness started in 1994 and she left work in 1998. Patricia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was so proud of her children and grandchildren. She had the most infectious smile and eyes like the moonlight of spring. Patricia was an avid reader of the novel and her favorite authors included Margaret Atwood and Margaret Laurence. Patricia always looked forward to her yearly visits to British Columbia to be with her family where she loved to shop for bargains and try her luck at the Casino. Patricia is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband Frederick, daughter Kristen (Eric) Niemi, son Timothy, mother Olive Phillips, sisters Deanna (Patrick) Lobsinger, Deborah (Robert) Morton, brothers Thomas Phillips and William Phillips, grandchildren Eric-John Frederick Niemi, Samuel Thomas Niemi, Shea Catherine Patricia Niemi, Paige Mari Bryson and Zephan Frederick McCreanor Bryson. She will also be missed by all her nieces, nephews, cousins, her favorite aunt Mrs. Gladys Jeffers and her little dog “Bogie.” She was predeceased by her father Alan Phillips, grandparents Gertrude and Thomas Henderson, sister-in-law Norma Phillips, her uncle William Jeffers and her mother and father-in-law Helen and Frederick Bryson. A family graveside service will be held at the family plot in Mountain View Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Deborah Kraft of St. Paul’s Anglican Church. A reception for family and friends will be held at Jenkens Funeral Home on Friday, January 2, 2009 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. with Words of Remembrance at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the George Jeffrey Children’s Treatment Centre.
