Everett Illsley WILE September 15, 1926 - January 5, 2009 Wile Everett I. Wile, age 83, of Windsor, Hants County, passed away Monday, January 5,2009 in the Q.E.II V.G. Site. Born on September 15, 1926 in Lower Vaughans, Hants County, he was a son of the late Reuban & Laura (Wile). In Everett's youth, he worked with his father and brothers in the woods and also had his own trucking business. He served two terms with the armed forces during the Second World War and the Korean War reaching the rank of Sergeant Major. After leaving the army he began his transport career driving for Midland where he became the manager for New Brunswick; he then joined Speedway Motor Express as the manager for Nova Scotia, then he worked for Sanborn's Motor express out of New York as a Canadian manager before retiring. Everett was past president of the West Hants Wildlife Association where he started rainbow fishery at Meadow Pond with the Department of Environment and the Department of Fisheries. In 2003 he began the first ice fishing at Meadow Pond and until 2008 he was in charge of the Rainbow and Spring Fingerling program for River Reproduction. He also helped to establish the West Hants Building Project. His hobbies were camping, trapping, fishing and hunting. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed attending bluegrass festivals in the summer. He is survived by his wife the former Marilyn (Lake) Wile; daughter, Grace Wile (Steven Benjamin), Newport Station; son, Farnell Wile, Hamilton, Ontario; brothers, Paul, Lower Vaughans; Harold, Lower Vaughans; Daniel, Windsor Back Road; David, Windsor; Edwin, Ontario; Bernard, Lower Vaughans; Sisters, Lorrena Lowthers, Three Mile Plains; Hannah Jordan, Gaspereau; Melbra Trenholm, Port Elgin, New Brunswick; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, James; sister, Grace; and brother, Leslie. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009 in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, where The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #009 will hold their service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009 in Lindsay's Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Jeff White officiating. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. Family flowers only.
