Mr. Raymond Ernest Langston September 16, 1923 - January 17, 2009 Born Sept 16, 1923 in Camp Lister, B.C. Passed away Jan 17, 2009 in Richmond, B.C. Ray passed in his home that he shared with his wife of 63 years, Bobbie, who was at his side. He will be lovingly missed by his children Steve (Pat), Wendy (Colin) and Laurie. Grandchildren Damon, Richard and Tabatha. Siblings Graeme and Gwen For 33 years, Ray served in the RCAF. He was stationed overseas, as well as in various postings in Canada, before retiring from the forces in Richmond, in 1972. He then worked as a Civilian Dispatcher for the RCMP for 10 years. Ray took great pride in serving his country and community. He was involved with volunteer work at Richmond Presbyterian Church as well as Steveston United Church. On Sundays you could always count on seeing Ray at a church service. Ray’s preferred method of relaxation was exercise. His day was not complete without a brisk walk, a bike ride along the dyke, and in the summer months he was often found swimming in the outdoor pool in the complex where he lived. Although he was a private and quiet man, Ray was kind and generous. He wanted what was best for his family and in his own way, he let us know that. We will miss him very much and are thankful to have had him as a husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Please join us for a celebration and remembrance of Ray Langston’s life at Steveston United Church, 3720 Broadway, Richmond, B.C. on Jan 26th at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Steveston United Church would be appreciated.
