Rita M. ASSELIN

CHICOPEE - Rita M. (Asselin) Lapierre, age 81, formerly of Front Street, passed away on November 2, 2005 at Mercy Hospital. She was born on July 27, 1924 in Chicopee and continued to be a life long resident. Her parents were the late Wilfred and Mary Asselin. She was a communicant of Assumption Church and belonged to the Ladies of St Ann Society. Rita was also an avid Bingo player. She is predeceased by her husband Normand U. Lapierre who died on May 17, 1994 and also by her brother Arthur Asselin. She leaves her 2 sons Ronald Lapierre and his wife AnnMarie of Springfield, and Kenneth Lapierre and his wife Laura of Agawam. She also leaves her grandchildren Anthony Lapierre of Chicopee, Michael Lapierre of Clairmont NH, Mark Lapierre of Springfield and Madelyn Lapierre of Agawam and her great-grandchildren Brandon Lapierre, Mark Lapierre Jr., Joshua Lapierre, Jayden Lapierre and Arianna Lapierre. Calling hours will be held on Sunday November 6, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. Funeral will be held on Monday November 7, 2005 at 8:30 a.m. from the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Assumption Church at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
