Roger William Barrette, Sr., 68, of Chilton, formerly of Marinette, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, November 26, 2005. He was born on October 21, 1937, in Marinette to the late William J. and Louise (Gypp) Barrette. In May of 1986, Roger married Andrea Shandor in Las Vegas, Nev. Roger was a guitar player all his life and played in several local bands. He retired from Chilton Metal Products after 37 years where he was a plant manager. For three years following his retirement he helped his wife, Andrea, manage a restaurant in Elkhart Lake. He was an active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Hilbert. Roger loved the outdoors, especially golfing, boating, chopping wood and playing music. Roger is survived by his wife of 20 years, Andrea; his children and their spouses, Roger Jr. and Theresa Barrette, Spring Grove, Ill.; Mark and Katie Barrette, Minn.; Barbara and Dave Cytlak, Van Buren, Ohio; Scott Barrette, Milwaukee; and Leah Soerens, Sheboygan; his step-children, Clifford Jr. and Stephanie Kelsey, St. Mary's, Ga.; Kristal Kelsey, Green Bay; 18 grandchildren; his sister, Marie Willeson, Marinette; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Christopher William Barrette. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor H. P. Hilgendorf officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Roger's name.
