Paul W. BEAUPRE

Paul W. Beaupre, 93, of St. Ann's Residence, formerly of W. 3rd St., died Tuesday April 26, 2005 in St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born April 26, 1912 in Escanaba, Mich., to Joseph and Helen Beaupre. Paul grew up in Cloquet and survived the 1918 fire. The family returned to Cloquet following the fire. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Paul married Marcella Caskey June 8, 1942 in Duluth. He was employed as a meat cutter for St. Mary's Hospital and the College of St. Scholastica, retiring in 1974 after 35 years of employment. Paul was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, a trustee of the church and spent his spare time maintaining the church. He loved spending time with his family, especially beating them in cribbage. He enjoyed taking part in the Senior Olympics and won several medals competing with his peers. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Grace Lamirande, Sr. Jeanette Beaupre, Lucy Nead, Beatrice Liesen and Rosemary Liesen; brother, Lawrence Beaupre. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Marcella; his daughters, Carol Beaupre of Duluth; Paulette (Tony) Sheda of Wrenshall, Minn.; Theresa (William) Kleczka of Duluth; his sons, Tim (Ave) Beaupre of Hamel, Minn., Willy (Jill) Beaupre of Maple Grove, Minn.; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL:11 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to St. Peter's Catholic Church in Paul's name. The Duluth Combined Honor Guard will accord military Honors. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park.
