Arthur E. BERNARD

MANCHESTER — Arthur E. Bernard, 94, of Manchester, died June 1, 2005, at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester after a brief illness.He was born in Dover, N.H., Nov. 9, 1910, and was the son of Achilles and Elmira (LeClerc) Bernard. He lived most of his life in Dover and had been a Manchester resident since 1998.He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.He was a retired painting contractor.He was a member of the American Legion.He was predeceased by his wife, Eva Marie (Cote) Bernard, in 2004.Family members include a son, Robert R. Bernard of Essex Junction, Vt.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.There are no calling hours.A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Manchester.
