Durand Alice, 87, of Minneapolis, died peacefully December 29, 2004 at the Minnesota Masonic Home, North Ridge, where she resided these past 2 years. Born January 27, 1917 in Mora, MN, she was one of 12 children to Edward and Mary Bowman (deceased). Alice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis Durand. Survived by her son, Bernard DeForge of Vacaville, CA; brothers, Tony Bowman of St. Paul, Dick Bowman of Rochester; niece, Barbara Sumstad of Brooklyn Center; 4 grandchildren, Kim, Kevin, John & Christopher DeForge; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nephews & friends who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly. Alice was a loving mother and liked to fish, walk, and visit her many friends and grandchildren. She was a 25 year member of Women of the Moose, Chapter 315, Vallejo, CA. No services are scheduled and interment will be at Fort Snelling. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Minnesota Masonic Home at North Ridge, 5420 Boone Ave North, New Hope, MN 55428.
