Flora Cecile CARREAU

NEW BEDFORD -- Flora Cecile (Carreau) Sherman, 95, of New Bedford died Monday, April 25, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of James A. "Cy" Sherman. They were married for 62 years. A lifelong resident of New Bedford, she was born on Nov. 17, 1909, and was the daughter of the late Joseph D. and Marie (Benjamin) Carreau. She was a communicant of the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Sherman was a sales clerk for Shawmut Package. She also worked for William R. West Manufacturing. Survivors include five nieces and seven nephews. She was the mother of the late Bruce P. Sherman and the sister of the late Edease, William, Leo, Joseph and Armand Carreau, Yvonne Sylvia, Agnes Levesque, Beatrice Parker and Lillian Lemerise. Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday in Donaghy-Hathaway Funeral Home, 465 County St. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
