Mary Evelyn CHARRIER

Mary Evelyn Charrier, beloved wife of Elphege J. Charrier for 67 years, died on Monday, July 11, 2005, after a short illness. She was 87. She was born and grew up in Avoyelles Parish, lived in Orleans Parish and then Jefferson Parish as an adult. She retired from BellSouth, where she worked in the accounting offices and took part in the implementation of the first computer system there. She was a member of Rob Morris Chapter #1, OES and Metairie Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Charrier is survived by her daughter, Linda C. Daigre and her husband, Richard G. Daigre Sr.; grandson, Richard G. Daigre, Jr.; grandson, Robert J. Daigre, his wife, Traci and their children, Hunter and Jordan; grandson, Randell E. Daigre and his wife, Mille; a brother, Willard E. Charrier; a sister, Katie C. Bellipani and a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward Charrier and Mary Eudolie Bordelon Charrier and a sister, Lodie C. Tassin. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the service on Thursday, July 14, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, July 13, 2005 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Thursday morning from 9:00 AM until funeral time.
