Chevalier, Ralph Alan Peacefully after a brief illness, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend died at the age of 56 on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, at his home, surrounded by his family. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1976 after eight years of service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and employed by Schneider National Trucking for eight years. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lynn Marie Thompson Chevalier; daughter, Amy Lynn Collazo; son, Ralph Michael Chevalier; and two grandsons, Jacob Browning and Peyton Romero. Also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Dave and Connie Chevalier, Gary and Louann Chevalier and Lynn and Susan VanStock; mother-in-law, Jeanette Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Phyllis Chevalier; father-in-law, Charles Thompson; and his best friend and companion, Winston, his dog. Wake service will be held Sunday, Dec. 18, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorial service at the funeral home on Dec. 19 from noon to 1 p.m., with burial to follow at Port Hudson National Cemetery, Zachary. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will always be in our hearts. Published in The Advocate on 12/17/2005.
