Blanchard, Geraldine Choate A retired hairdresser and resident of Gonzales, she died at 11:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2005, at Gonzales Health Care. She was 79 and a native of Port Arthur, Texas. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 5, conducted by the Rev. Joel LaBauve. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Maurice. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Lynn Portune, St. Amant; stepson, Miles Coleman; two grandchildren, Lynn and Rakhee Portune Jr. and Nicholas Portune; and two great-grandchildren, Cole and Rekha Portune. Preceded in death by her husbands, Rufes J. LeBlanc and John E. Blanchard; two brothers, Jimmy and Joe Choate; and parents, Norwood and Lorna LeBeauf Choate. Published in The Advocate on 9/4/2005.
