Jeanne CLOUTIER

CLINTON— Jeanne (Cloutier) Dowd of Clinton and St. James City, Florida, formerly of Lancaster, died July 27, 2005 peacefully at home. Her husband, John J. Dowd, died in 2001. She leaves eight children, though many people thought of her as a mother. She leaves four sons, John J. Dowd of Petersham, Paul Dowd of Barre, Matthew Dowd of Clinton and Sean Dowd of Phillipston; four daughters, Maureen Shamgochian of Petersham, LuAnne Dowd of St. James City, Florida, Jane Rose and Elizabeth Narbonne, both of Lancaster; a brother, John Cloutier of Islip, New York; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was born in Newburyport, MA, grew up in Bolton and graduated from Clinton High School. In recent years, she spent her time between Massachusetts and Florida and caring for her poodle Bacall. Mrs. Dowd spent her early life filled with love and family and the latter part of her life filled with travel. She had a great appreciation for the culinary arts, antiques and literature. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m in the First Church of Christ Unitarian on the Town Green in Lancaster. Calling hours at the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water Street, Clinton, will be held on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.
