Grace Ann Cordeau Girouard -- 1942 - 2005 -- Grace Ann Cordeau Girouard died Thursday, June 30, 2005.Funeral: Private family services will be held.Memorials: The family requests, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Fort Worth Vegetarian Society (www.FWVS.com under membership); the Fort Worth chapter of Animal Connection of Texas, (817) 451-9304; or other animal rights organization.Grace Ann Cordeau Girouard was born in Port Arthur and filled her 63 years raising four children, founding the Fort Worth Vegetarian Society, traveling, cooking and helping others.The Fort Worth Vegetarian Society, founded by Grace and her husband, Max, in 1992 as a social club for people interested in a healthier lifestyle, grew into a tax-exempt 501(c)3 charitable organization.Grace loved to cook and have a house full of friends share their dishes in a pot luck. For the past four years, the Girouards opened their home on Thanksgiving Day for a harvest feast, a totally vegan alternative to Thanksgiving.Survivors: Her husband, Max; brothers, Ken Cordeau and Wes Cordeau; her children, Holling Girouard, David Gandy and Rachael Gandy; and her grandchildren, Brandon, Oliver, Becky and Jenny.
