Mildred Basten, 95, Green Bay, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at a local nursing home. She was born Nov. 9, 1910, in Green Bay, daughter of the late Jules and Jennie (Rentmaster) Delveaux. On Feb. 12, 1928, she married Louis H. Basten at St. Willebrord Catholic Church. He preceded her in death in 1963. Mildred was a member of St. Bernard's Parish. She was bookkeeper for Louis H. Basten Construction Company and also worked for Reimer Meat Company. Mildred loved her grandchildren, loved gardening, cooking and playing cards. Mildred is survived by one son, Gary (Judy) Basten, Green Bay; three daughters, Mercedes (Denis) Maloney, Green Bay; Jackie Lamberg, Appleton, Wis.; and Janice Baye, Green Bay; 11 grandchildren, Linda Allen and her friend, Debbie Roulette, Denis (Laura) Maloney Jr., Jay (Vicki) Maloney, Lisa Maloney, Joy Keating, Guy (Laura) Lamberg, Craig Baye, Polly (John) Willis, Andy (Jane) Basten, Julie (Robert) Brocker, Mike Basten; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest (Irene) Delveaux, George Delveaux; one sister, Myrtle (Elmer) Longrie; two sons-in-law, Vernon Lamberg and Kenneth Baye; one granddaughter, Marisa Maloney. Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home and Crematory, 1630 E. Mason St., from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane, until time of Mass. Parish Wake service 7 p.m. Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating. Burial in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com. Mildred's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Bornemann's North Wing. Their care and concern for Mildred and her family was very much appreciated. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund has been established in Mildred's name.
