Norman E. DESMARAIS

Norman E. Desmarais, Sr., 93, of Tolland Turnpike, Willington, died Wednesday, (November 16, 2005) at Manchester Memorial Hospital, Manchester. He was the widower of the late Hilda A. (Berube) Desmarais. Norman was born in Fall River, MA, son of the late Louis G. and Marie A. (Gardner) Desmarais. He was general manager for Speedwell Farms Ice Cream of Fall River, MA for many years, retiring later from Hendrics Ice Cream. Norman and his wife than moved to Willington, after retirement in 1967. He was a member of St. Jude Parish and the Willington Senior Center. Norman is survived by a son, Norman E. Desmarais, Jr. of Willington; a brother, Albert Desmarais; two sisters, Rose Spear and Lillian Castonguay and her husband Joseph, all of Fall River, MA; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass at St. Jude Church, Old Farms Rd., Willington, will be held at a later date. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington.
