CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette for Iris LeBlanc, 85, the former Iris Destouette, who passed away at 7 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2005, at University Medical Center in Lafayette.Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Harold Trahan, pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.Ms. LeBlanc was a native and resident of New Iberia for most of her life and had been a resident of Carencro for the past five years. She was a homemaker and seamstress, and a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette.Survivors include eight daughters, Lydia Denise "Dee" La Salle and Iris Marie S. Bernard and her husband, Lawrence "Jake", all of Carencro, Lois Theresa L. Cahoon and her husband, Richard, of Rochester, N.Y., Alice S. Willard, of South Gate, Calif., Bernadine L. Miller and her husband, Richard, of Stockdale, Texas, Gloria Ann L. Victoria and her husband, Austin, of Lawtell, Mary Linda S. Patin and her husband, Ronald, of San Antonio, Texas, and Gwendolyn Mae S. Olivier and her husband, Arthulo, of Jeanerette; one brother, Albert Earl Destouette and his wife, Mary, of New Iberia, one sister, Lolita D. James, of Pittsburgh, Calif., 34 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Clophia LeBlanc; her parents, Dellile Destouette and the former, Celevia Judice; two sons, Harold Francis LaSalle and Clifton Michael St. Julien Jr.; two brothers, George Destouette and Robert Destouette; and one sister, Lorena D. Nelson.A rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Monday and will continue from 8 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N.
