Jean (Genest) Corbesato, age 61, of Monroe, beloved wife of Philip J. Corbesato Sr., died on Thursday, March 10, 2005, at 3030 Park, Fairfield Health Center. Mrs. Corbesato was born on March 14, 1943 in Bridgeport, a daughter of the late Alfred and Nelida (Cote) Genest. She was raised in the south end of Bridgeport and educated in the public school system. Jean attended Bullard Havens Technical School where she graduated from Beauty Culture shop and earned her place in their National Honor Society. Together, Jean and her husband, Philip, were shown that as two parents at home at all times would be a blessing. They were led into the Foster Care Program offered by the State of Connecticut. During the next 18 years the family cared for more than 78 children. Jean proved to be a very special lighthouse in the middle of a raging storm of life. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease more than 10 years ago, Jean's biggest concern was that she would forget who Jesus Christ was, and that she would forget her family. As she traveled down the lonely, dark road of Alzheimer's disease, confused and fearful at times, but being assured that her soul was resting safe and secure in the Palm of the Hand of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. As Jean came to the end of her journey of this life, we are confident that God was looking down from Heaven with a broad smile on His beautiful face, saying to Jean, "Well done good and faithful servant." God Bless you. She is survived by her loving husband, Philip J. Corbesato of Monroe; devoted children, Philip John "P.J." Corbesato Jr., Christine Lucas, Cindy Corbesato and Amanda Jean Corbesato, all of Monroe, and Melissa Corbesato of West Haven; two grandchildren, Michael and Megan Lucas. She also leaves two brothers, Arthur Genest of Stratford, and Norman Genest of New Haven; a sister, Loretta Errichetti and her husband, Tony, of Hamden; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. in the Stepney Baptist Church, 423 Main Street, Route 25, in Monroe. Interment will follow in the St. Michael Cemetery in Stratford. Family and friends may call at the Spadaccino Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Route 111, in Monroe, on Friday, March 11, 2005 from 4 until 8 p.m. The Corbesato family would like to thank the nurses and C.N.A.'s on the 2nd floor at 3030 Park Fairfield Health Center.
