Leopold GIBEAULT

FEEDING HILLS - Leopold "Paul" Gibeault, 82, a longtime resident of this town, passed away Monday at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Paul was born June 19th, 1922 in Marionville, Ontario, Canada to the late Moise and Regina (Patenaude) Gibeault. He worked in construction for many companies, including O'Connell's Construction and Bartel's Pools. He built communication systems and radio towers, and has worked in all but four of the contiguous United States. Paul enjoyed playing cards, watching golf and bowling on television, working in his yard as an avid gardener, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his very loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Hazel (Mahoney) Gibeault; his devoted children, Paula Tonelli of Agawam, and Lissa Gibeault-LaBonte of Feeding Hills. Paul is also survived by his caring siblings, Bernard Gibeault of Florida, Ernest Gibeault of Rutland, VT, Harris Gibault of Stillwater, NY, Emma Gibeault and Ernestine Lemmo, both of Rutland, VT, Aline Vondle of Bellows Falls, VT, Lorette Quinneville of Ashfield Falls, MA; his cherished grandchildren, Cara Tonelli, Bridget Alaimo, Evan LaBonte; his very special great-granddaughter Haleigh Alaimo; and several nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends Thursday morning from 10-11 a.m. at the Colonial-Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam, MA with the funeral service to be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in St. David's Episcopal Church. The interment will follow in the Springfield Street Cemetery.
