Evelyn G. GOLEN

HOLYOKE - Evelyn G. (Golen) Bergeron, age 81, of Holyoke, died Tuesday August 2, 2005 at Wingate of South Hadley. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Frank J. and Apolonia "Polly" (Stefanik) Golen, and was educated in the Holyoke schools. Evelyn graduated from the former Northampton Commercial College. She was a member of the St. Agnes Guild of the Holyoke Day Nursery, and a longtime communicant of Mater Dolorosa Church. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Donald L. Bergeron; her children, Donald E. Bergeron and his wife Tami of Holyoke, and Elizabeth "Betsy" Tripp and her husband Steve of Windsor, CT; her beloved granddaughters, Sarah and Katelyn Bergeron of Longmeadow, Lauryn, Brittany and Kristen Tripp of Windsor, CT; sister-in-law, Joan Golen of Holyoke; and several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her brother, Dr. Francis Golen. The funeral will be held Friday morning at 9:00 from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St., followed by a Mass in Mater Dolorosa Church at 10:00. Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, South Hadley.
