ST. MARTINVILLE — Services for Teddy “Gilbert” Guidry Sr., 74, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Notre Dame Catholic Church with the Rev. Darrell C. Kelly, SVD officiating. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.Visiting hours will be observed Saturday from 7 a.m. until the time of service with a rosary being recited at 8 a.m. at Golden Meadows Funeral Home.A native and lifelong resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Guidry died at 4:35 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, at Dauterive Hospital following a brief illness.Mr. Guidry was a member of Goodwill Mutal Aide Society.He is survived by his six sons, Teddy Guidry Jr., Perry, Joseph and Gilbert Guidry, Edward Davis, Louis Davis Sr. and Finley Williams; four daughters, Theresa Sam, Jessica Guidry, Veronica Guidry all of St. Martinville and Margaret Guidry of Miami; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Guidry of Forth Walton Beach, Fla.; a sister, Helen Mitchell of New Orleans; 27 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.Mr. Guidry was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Mae Guidry; mother, Mrs. Lillian Francis Ledet; a granddaugher, Shardi Sam; and two daughters-in-law, Sheila and Toni Guidry.Pallbearers will be Terry Guidry Jr., Therion Guidry, Donald Demochet, William Sam Jr., Tevon Guidry and Dynell Batiste.Honorary pallbearers will be Tanelius Guidry, Perry Guidry, Louis Davis Jr., Edward Davis, Joseph Guidry and Teddy Guidry Jr.Golden Meadows Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of the arrangements.
