Marie Rose HAMEL

NEW BEDFORD -- Marie Rose (Hamel) Audette, 96, of New Bedford died Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Sacred Heart Home after a brief illness. She was the widow of Armand Audette. Born in St. Sylvere, Canada, the daughter of the late David and Lydia (Lacourse) Hamel, she lived in New Bedford since 1926. She was a communicant of St. Anthony Church. Mrs. Audette had been a weaver in textile mills and enjoyed mending and needlepoint. Survivors include a son, Raymond A. Audette and his wife, Bertha, of New Bedford; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Elphege, Gerard R. and Jeanne D'Arc Hamel, Marie L. and Angele B. Rock, Juliette and Madeline Cormier, Lucille M. Courtemanche and Laure A. Morin. Her funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Church, followed by burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd.
