LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Lydia Hernandez Boudreaux, 91, who died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, in Lafayette General Medical Center.The Rev. Keith J. DeRouen, rector of The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the services.Musical selections will include "How Great Thou Art" "Be Not Afraid" "Ave Maria", and "On Eagles' Wings".Entombment will be in the Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum.A native of Judice and a resident of Lafayette for 70 years, Mrs. Boudreaux was a parishioner of The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a founding charter member of the Hibiscus Club of Lafayette and was involved in the Cathedral High School PTA.Mrs. Boudreaux was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all.Survivors include one daughter, Judy "J.J." Richardson, of New Orleans; one son, John Kelwood Boudreaux, of New Orleans; one daughter-in-law, Jean Jamail Boudreaux; seven grandchildren, Rickey Boudreaux, Cathi Brasseux, Carlton Keel Boudreaux Jr., Melissa Black, John Brett Boudreaux, James Blake Boudreaux and Cooper Edward Richardson; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen H. Broussard and Joyce H. Crochet, both of Lafayette; and one brother, Mervine Hernandez, of Lafayette.She was preceded in death by her husband, Ophie Boudreaux; her parents, Henry and Edwill Simon Hernandez; one son, Carlton Keel Boudreaux Sr.; one sister, Lettie H. Foreman; and one brother, Andrus Hernandez.A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. today in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home.The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and will continue from 9 a.m. Thursday until time of funeral services.Memorial contributions in Mrs. Boudreaux's name may be made to the Hibiscus Club of Lafayette.Pallbearers will be Rickey J. Boudreaux, Carlton Keel Boudreaux Jr., John Brett Boudreaux, James Blake Boudreaux, Craig Brasseux and Collin Ryan Boudreaux.Honorary pallbearers will be Cooper Richardson, Michael Crochet, Terrell Crochet, Mervine Hernandez, Foster M.
