Carla W. LA DUKE

CARLA W. LA DUKE, 89, of Houston, Texas, passed away at home on March 25, 2005. She was born in Detroit, Michigan and received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Michigan. Carla went on to teach at Midland High School in Michigan and later at Michigan Technological University. She married John A. La Duke on April 3, 1946. They lived in Michigan and Illinois before moving to Houston in 1960. Carla was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Carla is survived by her daughter, Lea La Duke - Grimes, son-in-law, Hal Grimes, and grandson, Jared Grimes, all of Houston; her son, John La Duke, daughter-in-law, Barbara, and granddaughter, Allison, all of Grand Forks, N.D. Carla was affectionately known by many who loved her as Fred. Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, March 28 at Earthman Funeral Directors, Bellaire, Texas. Carla will be buried next to her husband on Wednesday, March 30 in Midland, Michigan. Arrangements made through Smith - Miner Funeral Home (989) 832-8844.
