BURLINGTON — Margaret LaBonte "Maggie" Tootill, 64, of East Charleston and Largo, Fla., died April 5, 2005, at Rutland Regional Medical Center, from cancer.She was born Jan. 30, 1941, in Burlington, the daughter of Rena McKinstry and Edward Raymond.She graduated from Burlington High School in 1957.Mrs. Tootill served in the Vermont Army National Guard, and also served in Arizona and Florida.She worked for many years at Fairbanks Scales in St. Johnsbury. She also owned and operated Maggie's Gift Shops in the St. Johnsbury area.Mrs. Tootill was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in St. Johnsbury.Survivors include her daughter, Allyson of Struthers, Ohio; longtime friend, Charlene Parker; her father of Burlington; brothers, Wayne LaBonte Sr. of Burlington and Kevin Raymond of Fair Haven; and many nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her mother.Friends may gather from 10 a.m. Friday until the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Elmwood-Meunier Funeral Home, 97 Elmwood Ave., Burlington.Interment will follow in New Mount Calvary Cemetery.
