GILFORD -- Regina L. Dion, 89, of Hook Road, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia. Mrs. Dion was the widow of Roland J. Dion, who died in 1994. She had been a resident of the Belknap County Nursing Home for the past three years. Mrs. Dion was born Oct. 20, 1915, in Ashburnham, Mass., the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Finn) Lashua. She was a longtime resident of the Lakes Region and moved to Gilford in 1960. She was owner and operator of the Wilton Diner in Wilton for six years and was also employed at Cormier Hosiery Mill in Laconia for many years. Mrs. Dion was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Laconia. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda D. and Don Ames of Gilford; a granddaughter, Jennifer Becker and her husband, Dale, and three great-grandchildren, Joseph Becker, Daniel Becker and Katie Becker, all of Cincinnati; a brother, Clifford Vose of North Carolina; and nephews and nieces. She will be missed by her family and friends and by those who cared for her. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St., Laconia. The Rev. Gary Kosmowski, pastor of the church, will be the celebrant. Burial will be held in the spring in the family lot at Pine Grove Cemetery in Gilford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Community Health and Hospice Inc., 780 N. Main St., Laconia 03246. Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home in Laconia is in charge of the arrangements.
