East Providence -- NORMAND E. LAVAULT, 87, of Bishop Avenue, a retired civilian employee, died yesterday at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.He was the husband of Virginia (Costa) Lavault. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Omer and Rose Alma (Corriveau) Lavault, he had lived in the Rumford section of East Providence for 50 years.Mr. Lavault had been a classification specialist at the Naval Supply Depot in Newport, where he worked for 30 years before retiring in 1975.He was an Army veteran of World War II.Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Geraldine Jacobs, and a son, Thomas N. Lavault, both of Rumford; a brother, Leo Lavault of Central Falls; and three granddaughters and two great-grandchildren. He was a brother of the late Andre and Silvio Coutu and Gerard and Roger Lavault.The funeral will be tomorrow at 8 a.m. from Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in St. Margaret Church, Pawtucket Avenue. Burial will be private.
