CASSIDY, John Patrick Veteran WWII and retired employee of Alcan Peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Kathleen Cassidy (Wood). Loving father of Bill Cassidy and Patricia Cassidy-Hortop (David). Dearest grandfather of Stephen Tavares, Rema Tavares, Melissa Dwyer (Eddie), Soteira Hortop, Niall Cassidy-Cavanagh and Vika Shaw. Great grandfather of Cassie, Jocelyn and Edward Dwyer and Kylan, Kearah and Kaidan Tavares. Brother-in-law of Rita Cassidy. Predeceased by his parents William Cassidy and Emma (Frasso), his son Jackie (Patrick John) and granddaughter Molly Emma Cassidy- Cavanagh. Also, his brother Andrew and sisters Molly and her husband Eddie Saunders and Sally and her husband Bill Ross. Friends will be received at the CENTRAL CHAPEL of the GORDON F. TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOMES, 49 Colborne Street (at Clergy Street), 613-546- 5454, on Monday, February 23, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. until the Service of Remembrance in Our Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Interment of the urn will take place at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery.
