Florence Elizabeth VAUTOUR

The death of Mrs. Florence Elizabeth Preston, wife of Cecil P. Preston of Ferry Road, NB, occurred on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 81. Born in Douglastown, NB, she was the daughter of the late William and Clara (Edmunds) Vautour. Florence was a homemaker who attended All Saint Roman Catholic Church, Millbank, NB. Besides her husband: Cecil, she is survived by: ten daughters: Patricia Mullin (Bill) of Miramichi, NB; Brenda (Bonnie) Brophy (John) of Blackville, NB; Eleanor Lockerbie (Glen) of Miramichi, NB; Carmel Fiander (Paul) of Blackville, NB; Dawn Preston of Miramichi, NB; Carolyn Harper (John) of Black River, NB; Wendy McLenaghan (Ron) of Providence Forge, Virginia; Lois Preston (Boyd) of Grey Rapids, NB; Cheryl Bell (David) of Miramichi, NB; Pamela Harris of Miramichi, NB; two sons: Bruce of Lyttleton, NB; Carl of Miramichi, NB; two brothers: Walter Vautour of Miramichi, NB; William (Bud) Vautour (Mary) of Redmondville, NB; 19 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Florence is predeceased by: one son: Harry; grandson: Brent and granddaughter: Amy; brothers: Leo, Norman, Leonard, Benny, Chester and Freddie; sisters: Alma, Olive, Margie, Marion and Helen. The family received visitors at Bell's Funeral Home on Sunday from 7 to 9 PM and on Monday from 6 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from St. Samuel's Roman Catholic Church, Douglastown, NB on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 11 AM with Father Maurice Swift officiating assisted by: Father John Grattan. Organist/Soloist was: Jacqueline Allain. Solo: "Amazing Grace" by: Donna Hubbard. Readers were: Jason Brophy and Rachel Bell. Eulogy was given by: Natalie Mullin. Active pallbearers were: grandsons, Scott Mullin, Jason and Andy Brophy, Grant and Alex Fiander, Jonathan Harper, Michael Lockerbie, Jeffrey Preston, Ryan and Andy McLenaghan and Bryan Morris. Honorary pallbearers were: Jr. Galley, Walter Vautour (Jr.), Pat Vautour, Ron Vautour, Bev Preston, Keith Preston, Carl Galley and Charles Lobban. In Florence's memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Society, IWK Hospital or one's choice.
