Rita WALLACE

Mrs. Rita Dawson, widow of Thomas Dawson, Nelson-Miramichi. occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on January 1, 2009. Rita was the daughter of the late John Wallace and Rose Oates. She is survived by her five daughters, Betty O'Shea (Michael), Carmel Conkie (Bill), Margaret MacDonald (Norman), Patsy Holland (Vince), Merita MacMillan (Blake), daughter-in-law Betty Dawson, Fourteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one sister, Josephine McCarthy. She was predeceased by her son, Paul; son-in-law, Norman MacDonald; six brothers, James, Joseph, George, Harry, Vincent and Michael; four sisters, Margaret, Mary, Bridget and Theresa. Mrs. Rita Dawson was resting at Maher's Funeral Home Miramichi on Saturday Jan 3rd from 7 to 9 and on Sunday Jan 4th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday Jan 5th at 11am from St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church with Fr Jim McQuade officiating. Fr. Leon Creamer and Fr Dan Melanson were in Attendance. Readers were Merita MacMillan & Mary Rita Holland, Intercessions were Lorie Holland Organist Jacqueline Allain. Active Pallbearers were Grandchildren; Thomas Dawson, Matthew Holland, Luke MacMillan, Danny O'Shea, Lynn Conkie and Darcie Cameron. As expressions of sympathy donations to the St Patrick's Memorial Fund and the Paul Dawson Bursary Fund St. Thomas University.
