FERRARA, Emilia Maria (Cinque), Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at the Port Colborne General Hospital, in her 89th year. Born in Guasto, Molise, Italy on February 23, 1916, Emilia came to Canada in May of 1951 and lived in Port Col borne all her life. Wife of the late Luigi John Ferrara (September 29, 1993). Loving mother to Pasquale (Pask) Ferrara and his wife Jean of Phoenix, Arizona, Roberto Ferrara and his wife Anita of Silver Bay, Maria Antoinetta (Mary) and her husband Te rry Croft of Welland, Angela Gabriella and her husband Peter Reibel of Amherst, New York, John Ferrara and Jill of Port Colborne, Antonella Ferrara of Falmouth, Nova Scotia and Serenina (Sera) Giannopoulos of Port Colborne. Emilia will be missed by h er grandchildren, Shelley and her husband Thomas Lawhead, Heather Ferrara, Andrea and husband Rob Ledingham, Chris Ferrara and wife Lisa, Steven Ferrara, John Croft, Jeff Croft and his wife Nathalie, Daniel Croft, Peter Kevin and Michael Reibel, John Ferrara and his wife Lisa, Sherry Ferrara, David Ferrara and wife Shannon, Shiloh Ferrara, Irene, Athena and Vincent Giannopoulos. Her great-grandchildren Kelsey Jean, Colton, Allegra, Martine, Luca, Roxanne and Stephanie, Jesse, Jimmy, Jacob, Joshu a, Jesse, Kyle, Isaiah and Tina will miss her as well. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by an infant son and daughter. She is also predeceased by her siblings Silvio, Maria, Aldagisa, Giuseppe (Peppino) and Dahlia. Emilia was well known for her generosity to all in need and those less fortunate. She was a long time volunteer (palliative care) and worked at the Belvedere Nursing Home, Port Colborne Poultry and Northland Manor. In Italy she was a school teacher a nd a nurse. Emilia also had many foster children in third world countries. She enjoyed cooking and loved feeding people. Her favourite words were "come on, eat". The Ferrara family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 179 Clarence Stre et, Port Colborne on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 15, 2004 at St. John Bosco R.C. Church at 10:30 a.m. with Father Jo hn Croal officiating. Rite of Committal will take place at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery, Port Colborne. A Mass will also be celebrated in Rome, Italy on Saturday, May 15th, by her many relatives.
