OTT, Edward Henry WWII Veteran (RCN) Ret'd Ontario Hydro Passed away peacefully on February 16th at the Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre (PRVHC) at the age of 84. Beloved and devoted husband of Gladys for over 62 years, loving and dedicated father of Catherine, David and Les. He will be dearly missed by them, by daughter-in-law Maureen, by his grandchildren (Jennie & Jonathan Queen, Chris & Melissa Ott, and Lindsay Ott) and by his great grandchildren (Emily & Samantha Bennett and Emily Dekuysscher). Although proud of his Navy and Ontario Hydro experiences, he always made his family the focus of his life. He loved family get-togethers, family BBQs, weekends at the cottage, and helping out any of his family who needed his help, wherever they lived. Your gentle nature, eager laughter, dry humour, handyman skills, home movies and travel stories, - and yes - your love for a good cigar and a bottle of beer from time to time will be memories we cherish forever. Special thanks to the dedicated and generous caregivers at the PRVHC, especially G1N, whose professional and attentive care allowed him dignity and a comfortable passing. In lieu of flowers, donations to PRVHC ((613) 526-7171) would be appreciated. Funeral services will be private, for immediate family only. Published in the Ottawa Citizen from 2/21/2009- 2/22/2009
