VAN ZELST, Cornelis “Case“ - Peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Sunday March 8, 2009 Cornelis “Case“ Van Zelst, age 85, beloved husband of Woutrina Simona (Van Bladel) Van Zelst, they immigrated from Holland in 1954. Born in Jutfaas, The Netherlands on July 11, 1923, son of the late Margaretha Kragten and Albert VanZelst. Case was a member of the Knights of Columbus, from Chatham, Tilbury and Wallaceburg and a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Father James Assembly and Andrew Michael Taggart Assembly. Dear father of 5 sons; Albert (Lisa), Roland (Jill), Andrew (Mary Ellen), Wilfred (Kathleen) and Matthew (Lee-Ann). Loving OPA of 10 grandchildren; Leslie, Marie, Lindsey, Melissa, Christina, Ashley, Tiffany, Alex, Brandon and Zachary. Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday March 10, 2009 and again on Wednesday March 11th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 12, 2009 at 10:30 am in St. Joseph's Church. Parish Prayers Wednesday at 7:00 pm. Members of the 4th Degree Father James Assembly #0867 and Andrew Michael Taggart Assembly and St. Joseph's Council #10436 and Tilbury Council #2356 of The Knights of Columbus will assemble for prayers on Wednesday at 7:30 pm. Colour Guard will stand watch from 7-9 pm. on Wednesday and the presentation of the Chalice will follow. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Merlin.
