SOWA, Paulette (nee Bourdages) - After a courageous battle with cancer, Paulette Sowa (nee Bourdages) of Welland, passed away in her 73rd year, peacefully on March 8, 2009 with her daughters by her side. She was predeceased by her loving husband John. Loving mother of Cheryl and her husband Jamie Buckborough of Hagersville, Diane and her husband Rob McGivern of Cambridge. She will be sadly missed by her 6 grandchildren Ryan (Abby), Braden, Joshua, Caitlyn, Owen and Brody, and her 3 great-grandchildren Nolan, Natalie and Rianne. Dear sister of Gemma and her husband Joe Coutu of Welland. Aunt Paulette will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as many friends. Predeceased by her son Joey, parents Alexandre and Bertha Bourdages, and two brothers John and Edwin. Thanks to the 3rd floor nurses from the Henderson, the West Haldimand General Hospitals and the Juravinski Cancer Centre for their support, care and compassion. Family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME 827 East Main Street Welland on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at St Kevin's Church at 11am. Inurnment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
